Reading Readiness

We offer several options of instruction to prepare your little ones for school.

Language for Learning

Language for Learning teaches children the words, concepts, and statements important to both oral and written language. It teaches children the kind of instruction through carefully sequenced exercises that teach the concepts and skills they need to succeed in school.

This program is based on the theory that children who are taught language at an early age have a much easier time learning to read.

Who benefits from Language for Learning Instruction?

  • 3-7 year old children having difficulty with language knowledge and skill for their age

  • Primary age school children in bilingual and ESL programs

  • Primary school children who are in Title 1 of special education programs

  • Children in speech correction and language classes

Ready Reading

Ready Reading is a multi-sensory approach to teaching kindergarten readiness skills. This approach uses auditory, visual, kinesthetic, and tactile means for teaching letter sounds and blending letter sounds to develop reading skills. This approach combines expressive language activities with creative writing to give your child an opportunity for development of language and comprehension in the earliest stages of reading.

Who benefits from Ready Reading?

  • 3-6 year old children in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade

  • Children with developmental disabilities experiencing difficulty with pre reading skills.

  • Children needing help developing phonetic awareness skills necessary for reading
