Handwriting Without Tears Woodblocks
Did you know that teaching your child to make letters and write them from visual memory is very easy to do?
There are many easy techniques such as the Handwriting Without Tears program that starts with motor skills, sensory motor learning, visual perceptual knowledge of letters, and making letters in fun mediums such as shaving cream to teach the correct formation of the letters. Using many different sensory systems to teach the letters helps make a stronger memory for that letter!
Did you also know that you should never teach A first? A is one of the harder letters to learn because it has two diagonal lines!
Children should learn letters such as L, F, E first so that they can be successful and learn that Handwriting is FUN! If your child or students are having a hard time with writing and visual memory of letters please see a Center of Development helper for more information on this program!
